2005 Funds Distribution
With volunteers leading the process, the Centre County United Way is able to keep overhead costs to a bare minimum. Of every dollar raised, nearly 82 cents goes to the agencies and programs receiving funding.
Every spring, panels of United Way Funds Distribution volunteers assemble to personally visit United Way agencies for the following purposes:
- to learn more about the programs being funded by United Way
- to help conduct a needs assessment
- to ensure United Way dollars are being well-spent
- to guard against duplication of services
- to decide how much money should be allocated for the current year's pool
Each panel consists of approximately 6 volunteers. Over a three week period, each panel team visits three United Way agencies who offer similar services to the community. Upon the completion of the site visits, all panel chairs assemble to discuss what they learned, and evaluate together agency needs and each funding request. The Funds Distribution Chair then brings a recommendation for funding to the Centre County United Way Board of Directors, for approval.
2005 Allocations to Centre County United Way Agency Partners
The 2004 Centre County United Way campaign raised $1,918,633, surpassing the campaign goal to raise $1.825 million dollars. As a result of this effort, the following dollars are being distributed to CCUW partners over the course of 2005.
