What is the Young Leaders Group?

As a member of the Centre County United Way Young Leaders Group (YLG), individuals 45 and younger have an opportunity to improve the quality of life for children, youth and older residents in the community and to be recognized as someone who is committed to making a difference - today and in the future - by sharing time, talent and treasure.

Young Leaders are individuals or couples who make a minimum annual contribution of $500.00* to Centre County United Way.  This contribution helps to fund the 40 partner agencies served by the United Way. * Individual or combined gift.

Each generation gives because they wish to see improvement in the quality of life in their communities and in the world.  Becoming a Young Leader through the United Way allows you to connect with other professionals, have lasting impact, provide leadership through mentoring and workplace giving and to receive the rich benefits of growing together in philanthropy.

YOUNG LEADERS ARE . . .

VALUED - Indiviuduals and couples who begin giving at a significant level during their peak earning years are the emerging philanthropic leaders of the community as time goes on.  CCUW Young Leaders have an opportunity to get on track for sustained giving so their efforts have lasting value.

ENGAGED - Young Leaders enjoy social networking opportunities including access to prominent community leaders and professionals through receptions, mentoring programs, speaker series events, venue tours and more.

ACTIVE - Young Leaders are busy professionals with multiple committments and demands on their time.  Meeting and service events are well-organized and outcome driven.  Time and talent are recognized and respected.

NEEDED - Individuals with a vision for communities that are safe, healthy, diverse, engaged and supported are needed to become United Way Young Leaders, working together to enrich the lives of others.                      . . . THE FUTURE OF OUR COMMUNITY
