Over The Edge 2025 Volunteer Opportunities
Centre County United Way is thrilled to host another Over The Edge community-wide event. Over The Edge is a special events company that provides signature events for non-profit organizations around the world. Business leaders, individuals, and community members are invited to raise donations in exchange for the experience of going over the edge of a prominent building. This unique event generates front page news, raises thousands of dollars and provides participants with a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
This year we are taking things to new heights with our building partners at Hyatt Place State College. Opened in 2017 the Hyatt Place State College is situated in the Fraser Centre, with 12 stories and standing at just over 155 tall it is known as the tallest building in State College.
How can you help?
It comes as no surprise that an event of this magnitude requires plenty of helping hands. We are seeking several volunteers to fill 3 categories of support:
Planning Committee Volunteers
We are seeking a team of motivated, self-starters to help with the planning of the event. Our initial planning meeting will be held in late March. Meeting frequency and time commitment will vary based on role. As a thank you for your time and dedication your service on this committee will open a variety of VIP experiences and invites!
Event Day Support
Event Day volunteers help fill a variety of roles related to the execution of the event. From registration to roof-top security there are many opportunities to take part in this exciting day!
Rope Volunteers
Rope Volunteers are an integral part of any Over The Edge event. They work alongside the Over The Edge team in assisting with every facet of the rappel. This volunteer opportunity is a full day commitment with a required training the day before the event. No prior rope or climbing experience is necessary. As a token of our gratitude Rope Volunteers may have the opportunity to experience the rappel.
