Centre County United Way Opens Women United Grant Applications
Centre County, PA — Centre County United Way has announced that the Women United Grant application is now open, inviting local nonprofit organizations to apply for funding to support programs that create lasting, measurable impact for women and children across Centre County.
Women United, a leadership giving initiative of Centre County United Way, brings together women committed to strengthening the community through philanthropy, volunteerism, and advocacy. Since its inception in 2008, Women United has awarded $194,388 in grants to support innovative programs that improve the lives of women and families.
“The Women United Grant program is a powerful example of what happens when women come together to invest in their community,” said Megan Evans, Executive Director of Centre County United Way. “These grants support initiatives that not only meet immediate needs but create long-term opportunities for women and children to thrive.”
For the 2026 grant cycle, a total of $5,550 is available, with individual grant requests ranging from $500 to $2,500. The funding is designed to support new or expanding programs or initiatives that demonstrate long-term impact and sustainability beyond the initial grant period.
Eligible applicants must be Centre County 501(c)(3) organizations proposing programs that clearly focus on serving women and/or children, particularly those addressing challenges related to health, financial stability, and educational success. Strong proposals will demonstrate measurable outcomes, long-term impact, and collaborative partnerships that contribute to program success.
Past grant recipients reflect the breadth of impact made possible through Women United, including support for the Child Access Center and Centre County Courthouse Children’s Space, Mid-State Literacy Council’s health literacy initiatives for women, programs through the ARC of Centre County and ACRES focused on healthy relationships, and mental health initiatives led by the Jana Marie Foundation, YMCA of Centre County, and Tides.
The application is now open and will remain available through 5 pm on May 8, 2026. Full eligibility requirements, application guidelines, and submission details can be found online.
